The Defense. The Verdict
On Saturday, March 25, 1911, just at the close of day, a fire breaks out at the Triangle Waist Company in New York City. Housed on the upper floors of the Ashe Building off Washington Square, it is one of the city's largest garment factories. In a matter of minutes the lives of 146 workers, mostly young immigrant women, are lost as the fire rips through the building.
Based on the acclaimed Off-Broadway play, THE TRIANGLE FACTORY FIRE PROJECT tells the story of one of New York City's most devastating fires and one of history's most important pivotal moments. Told through first person accounts, period ephemera, and trial transcripts, this special audio version has been designed to bring the play and the event to the listener in vivid and dramatic life.

The Story Begins - Christmas Eve
Christmas Cheer
It’s Christmas Eve, 1932. Three New York guys, each preoccupied with his own particular problems and not especially fond of the season, find themselves in Good Time Charley’s speakeasy on West 46th Street. As the bootleg liquor flows, the guys agree to band together and take to the road to avoid all the hubbub of the holiday. Besides, notorious racketeer Heine Schmitz is after them, and they have to get out of town. Over one long life-changing night, they make some big decisions while inadvertently spreading good cheer around and about to one and all everywhere they go.
